RPT qualifications recognised  by the RFET

The RPT qualifications are recognised by the RFET and enjoy worldwide recognition, including from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) , the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), the Professional  Tennis Coaches Association (PTCA) and ESTESS Athletic University, among others.  The RPT also works with different Universities and Educational Centres, including the Zurich Elite Business School (ZEBS), the University of Navarra (IESE) and the Business Institute (IE), as well as in the European Economic Community which has collaborated and supported the development of the RPT programmes in its member countries.  The RPT is also recognised and approved by the International Coaches Institute, (ICI) which has trained and certified more than 100,000 sports coaches and trainers in 124 countries around the world.

The RPT and its subsidiaries: the European Registry of Tennis Professionals and the International Registry of Tennis Professionals have more than 24,500 qualified coaches in 124 countries. In addition the RPT Club provides support and services to enable coaches to carry out their professional business with total security including Civil Liability Insurance up to €300,000.

RFET qualifications recognised by the ITF

The RFET courses recognised by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) meet a series of requirements confirming that the qualifications are internationally recognised. The RFET is one of a few Federations in World Tennis that holds the gold level of recognition from the ITF guaranteeing that all the levels of training (Monitor, Coach and Teacher) are meet the required standards of the International Tennis Federation.

Sports degrees are currently regulated by Order ECD / 158/2014, which aims to regulate the curricular aspects, general requirements and the effects of sports training activities, referred to in the first transitory provision of the Royal Decree 1363/2007, which establishes the general organisation of sports education under the special regime and which in the case of tennis is specified in the Training Plan published in the Resolution of October 26, 2011.

Since 2019 this credential, is issued exclusively to National Federations on the completion of a thorough review of their Teaching Departments and meet the standards required by the ITF.  In this case, the RFET, through its Department of Teaching and Research, has obtained and renewed its Gold Level qualification, which means that all its initial technical training levels (Monitor, Trainer and Professor) are recognised by the International Tennis Federation in each of the formative levels.

The ITF level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications are used to compliment or add value to the National Federation qualifications offered by the RFET Teaching and Research Department and represents an important recognition of this RFET Department.

FFTT qualifications recognised by the RFET

Territorial Federations regularly develop their own courses at the different levels for the training of coaches, which are recognised by the RFET. The ITF Gold recognition held by the RFET will be extended to all the territorial Federations ensuring that all requirements established by ITF, and by the respective ministries of culture, education and sport are met.
